In case you missed it earlier this summer, Bugged Out’s Suck My Deck series continues this time with Damien Lazarus. A new breed in the transformation of electronica, reviving techno through retro twists of Detroit and acid house, with filthy smears of disco, punk and electro, Lazarus’s mix here is nothing short of inspiring, breathing new life into a stale and dying corpse. He’s minimal and brooding, but poignantly slaps your face when the time is right, grinding and tweaking out pulsating beats, haunting melodies and freaky soundscapes. One of the better techno mixes this year. —SA
