David Gilmour–On An Island (Columbia Records/Sony/BMG) Rock CD David Gilmour, On An Island
Okay all you Pink Floyd fans, at least those of you who may have been a tad skeptical about a solo album from David Gilmour, you may take pleasure in knowing that David did it right this time. Surprisingly, David seems to have rediscovered his Floydian roots, unlike his two previous solo attempts (About Face was his last attempt, over 21 years ago) and it sounds a lot like the Dark Side of the Moon era. In fact, this album sounds more like what Pink Floyd was supposed to sound like than the last two Pink Floyd albums; Division Bell and A Momentary Lapse of Reason. Sure, without Roger Waters it’s just not the same, but there could also be no Pink Floyd without this man either.
