ELECTRONICA cd Mint Royale, See You In The Morning

The  third release from this rising electronica act, Mint Royale, whose track “Singing in the Rain” was used for a Volkswagon Golf advert that made Gene Kelly’s infamous dance sequence appear to be “breakdancin’ in the rain.” The album’s opener, “Wait For You” went on to accompany a European Hugo Boss campaign. Unfortunately, founding member Chris Baker left before recording, as Neil Claxton continued with resident vocalists. Musically in the same league as Lemon Jelly and Ben Neil, with elements of Fatboy Slim. —TKO
