Some More Horizons Mo’ Horizons (Stereo Deluxe/Fusion III)
With three albums behind them, Mo’Horizons have been redefining the nu jazz, lounge and down-tempo vibe, always wading in the pools of the ever-popular electro-bossa-Brazil sound. Here they’ve compiled some rare and old gems to represent their roots and influences, while adding a little touch of their own to a few; from the Soul Surfers remix of their own on “Quando te veo,” to Nina Simone’s funky “Chaffeur,” which demonstrates her influence on Ray Charles, to the classic “Boom Boom” by Donald Byrd which was later made a hit by John Lee Hooker. A must-have for any music lover. —AZ
