Fans of Tojo’s say it’s the best Japanese restaurant in the world. Martha Stewart even shot her TV show exclusively at Tojo’s when in town. (Mind you, that might not sound like an endorsement anymore.) Word is, the seafood is so good it makes people cry; but whether you’re a weeper or not, it’s hard not to be impressed. Order off the menu, or order the omakase (chef’s choice). For different price points, the chef will create a menu just for you that includes appetizer, salad, main, sushi, and dessert. Tojo primarily focuses on local ingredients and “creativity”, and the place is minimalist and beautiful in the way that only an authentic Japanese restaurant can be. Make sure to make reservations well ahead as it’s a favourite of locals and Hollywood North types.
