Disney Interactive Eurocom PS3 Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End Sony Playstation 3 – PS3 Publisher: Disney Interactive Developer: Eurocom 3 stars out of 5 Arrr… Play key characters from the movie such as Will Turner, Elizabeth Swan, Captain Barbosa, and of course everyone’s favourite, Jack Sparrow. The essence of these characters is kept effectively in their expressions and the mannerisms, which keeps you immersed in the game. The fight scenes are controlled with a one-button slash and swing of your sword. Swing your sword a few times until your enemy turns their back, and then finish them off with a single slash or thrust. How easy is that? In spite of its simplicity, the fighting sequences are kept interesting with many a punch, kicking and kneeing your opponents in their family jewels to achieve a more fulfilling and rewarding finishing move. The boss fighting scenes get appropriately more intense as you fight one-on-one duels similar to the ones portrayed in the movies. They always manage to end with the humorous antics of Jack Sparrow in some fashion. When you’re not sword fighting, you will find yourself running, climbing, and finding lost items in the lush environment. There are also tricky puzzles to solve in the higher levels. Remember though, don’t hold your breath for too long, or it will really be the end of world for you. Savvy? —gee
Lost Planet Sbox 360 ESRB Teen Rating Capcom Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Xbox 360 Publisher: Capcom Developer: Capcom 4 stars out of 5 Earth is a place where humans once lived, and they now find themselves desperately attempting to colonize other planets. Lost Planet takes you to a new planet, (humanity’s new home) which is frozen known as E.D.N. III. It is hostile to human life, which promotes the struggle for survival and increased conflict among humans. There are also indigenous creatures known as Akrids that contain a thermal energy source that humans also attempt to obtain. You are Wayne, a snow pirate who retains little recollection of his personal history. He is, however, certain that his father was killed by a monstrous Akrid known as Green Eye. Wayne finds himself mentally and physically tangled between the conflicts of human plots and the swarm of the Akrids’ insect-like shapes in his attempts to the truth within the struggle. Some of the gear includes Vital Suits, (or VSs) large mechanical devices, and interchangeable weapons such as flesh-tearing machine guns, rocket launchers and cannons that propel enemies into the air. Go Xbox Live in the multiplayer team battle to experience a more sophisticated, intense, gaming experience. With either a single or multiplayer mode, there is little room for disappointment.—gee
